Five Minas

About Five Minas

Five Minas is based on the parable of The Ten Talents, which is found in Luke 19:11-27.

Since making money is hard, the idea is to start small & learn to grow your money up to a mid-point of what your financial goal is. It takes learning & practice! Once you reach that mid-point, you can continue to apply what you’ve learned to grow your money into the larger amount, which is your end goal.

In the parable of the 10 talents (Ten Minas), the Five Minas is the mid-point. The purpose is to learn how to gain eternal rewards in Heaven, by using your wealth here on Earth for God’s ministry purposes.

By learning to build worldly wealth, you can give it to churches & missionary projects, which brings souls to Christ & brings glory to God. That brings eternal rewards to you!

So in the Five Minas game, we’re learning to build 5 stacks of gold coins as our first temporary goal. Yet, we want to remember that building 10 stacks of gold coin stack is our second & ultimate goal. So in this image, we have 5 stacks of gold coins, surrounded by 10 individual gold coins.

If you can generate wealth in this Five Minas game simulator, then you can try to earn ten minas in real life!

If you would like to read the story, which Jesus Christ was telling to His disciples, here is the story:

Luke 19:11-27 (ESV), where Jesus Christ was teaching:

The Parable of the Ten Minas

11As they heard these things, he proceeded to tell a parable, because he was near to Jerusalem, and because they supposed that the kingdom of God was to appear immediately.12He said therefore, “A nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and then return.13Calling ten of his servants, he gave them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Engage in business until I come.’14But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’15When he returned, having received the kingdom, he ordered these servants to whom he had given the money to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by doing business.16The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten minas more.’17And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant! Because you have been faithful in a very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’18And the second came, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made five minas.’19And he said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’20Then another came, saying, ‘Lord, here is your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief;21for I was afraid of you, because you are a severe man. You take what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’22He said to him, ‘I will condemn you with your own words, you wicked servant! You knew that I was a severe man, taking what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow?23Why then did you not put my money in the bank, and at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’24And he said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina from him, and give it to the one who has the ten minas.’25And they said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’26‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.27But as for these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slaughter them before me.’”

Did You Notice the Five Minas name in that story?

The phrase “five minas” appears at the end of verse 18.

The Parable’s Purpose

The purpose of this parable is to teach us that we don’t want to be like the man who buried his talent during his lifetime & didn’t want to use his talent for God’s kingdom building purposes. That person & anyone who hates God could & probably would end up in hell. We want to be like the five talent or the ten talent men who returned a great deal of fiat currency wealth to God here on Earth. (Money, which is fiat currency is eternally worthless.) In Heaven, the two men who returned ten minas & five minas inherited real eternal wealth, as rulers over cities. Thousands of years ago, those were called kingdoms. Kings rule kingdoms. If you learn how to grow your little wealth for God here on Earth & you can destroy your love of money, you can do missionary work for God to win souls for Christ & in the course of time, receive a future kingship (or queenship) in Heaven. It will last for eternity!

Building wealth is hard & giving money away hurts emotionally, but it’s spiritual push-ups. When you do that, your level of faith grows. That’s important for this reason:

Increasing Your Level of Faith

Hebrews 11:6 (ESV) “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” (Bible Gateway)

Do you see the double negative in that Bible verse? In math classes, we learn that a double negative cancels out both negatives & they become positive.

Re-read Hebrews 11:6 again with this positive spin on it: "...without faith it is impossible...". We hope that this will encourage you to build your spiritual faith walk with God.

Faith isn’t like a light switch, where it can be flipped on or off. It’s more like a MMORPG game, where you have to level up from level 1 to level 80 but it takes a long time for your experience level to level up. Once you pass a level, more hardships & tests arrive continuously. Like experience levels, those hardships & tests help to build your spiritual muscles & allow your faith to level up to the next level.

Deeper Relationship With God

If you want to go deeper in a relationship with God, become baptized & read your Bible 3 to 5 times! At baptism, you will receive a hidden spiritual gift from God. If you read the Bible 2 times cover-to-cover, you will hit a pride checkpoint. If you stop reading the Bible, you will have chosen the path of pride & will be blocked from continuing to grow spiritually. If you continue to read the Bible 3 times cover-to-cover, you will have chosen the path of humility & your spiritual gift will start to open up. If you continue to read the Bible 4 to 5 times cover-to-cover, your spiritual gift will start to flourish. Then God can guide you to understand it & you’ll discover how it works & why you have it. Reading the Bible allows you to gain eternal rewards in Heaven.

Spiritual Gifts

You can read about the Spiritual Gifts in 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 and 1 Corinthians 14:1-25.

Guide Pointing to the Truth
